Hello there! I’m Louie Neri, a nurse researcher based outside of Chicago, IL. Passionate about evidence-based medicine and nutrition. Currently, I’m the Clinical Guidelines Manager at the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Previously, I was the Senior Coordinator of Evidence Based Surgery at The Society of Thoracic Surgeons where I managed multiple clinical practice guideline projects in cardiothoracic surgery, and a Researcher at Examine.com where I analyzed and synthesized nutrition and dietary supplement research.
I earned my BSN with a Research Distinction from UT Health San Antonio, where I researched the impact of nutrition and lifestyle on chronic diseases. This experience fueled my interest in evidence-based practice, leading me to pursue an upcoming MSPH in Outcomes Research at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
My expertise lies in evidence synthesis and systematic reviews/meta-analyses. I also have skills in cost-effectiveness analysis, decision-analytic modeling, Markov models, and Monte Carlo simulation.
Experienced in R programming (tidyverse, shiny, quarto), but can work with Stata and SAS.
I’m also interested in other health and science adjacent fields such as biostatistics, meta-science, philosophy of science, and exercise science.
Off the clock, my hobbies include golf, basketball, powerlifting, meditation, and philosophy. I’ve been told to pick one. I have not.
